Dance without Barriers: FREE residencies

by SMAC

Dance without Barriers 2021/2022 school year applications are now open!

Dance without Barriers is The Cowles Center’s K-12 dance residency program open to K-12 schools throughout Minnesota. Teaching Artists visit classrooms – either in-person or virtually (they’ve had plenty of practice and success with virtual residencies in the last year!) – to lead 3- to 5-day residences guided by your curriculum.

Thanks to generous sponsorship, these residencies are FREE to select Minnesota schools – apply today!

In the meantime, you’re welcome to explore their Brain Breaks videos which showcase the diversity and personality of their Teaching Artists!

The Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts offers free dance residency programs to K-12 schools throughout MN. A large part of the program is to reach remote area schools through virtual distance learning.  They have been offering this free program since 2004, reaching over 2,000 students each year. They would love to reach more greater MN schools as they know access to quality dance education can be sparse.
