Organizations
Grant programs for organizations provide funds to stimulate and encourage the creation, performance and appreciation of the arts in the region and also to provide financial and technical assistance to aid in organizations’ stability and development.
Organization grants are made possible by the voters of Minnesota thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund and an appropriation from the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the State’s general fund.
Art Project Grants
Quick Support for Organizations
Provides organizations with up to $2,500 for activities such as planning for a Public Art project, strategic planning or board training, costs to apply for 501(c)(3) status, small equipment purchases, or small arts projects.
Public Art Grants
Provides organizations and city, county, or tribal governments with up to $20,000 for large-scale physical public art projects that will leave an arts legacy in southwest MN. The project should result in sustainable arts access in the community, with a continuing impact over several years. 20% cash match required.
Equipment & Facilities Improvement Grants
Provides up to $10,000 to arts organizations for the purchase of equipment items and facilities improvements that will strengthen the organization’s capacity to serve the arts needs of the SMAC region.
