Join the Department of Public Transformation and Springboard for the Arts on Friday, June 17th (1-2:30 pm) for the second Rural Arts Activism & Anti-Racism Meet-up.
In June Springboard for the Arts and the Department of Public Transformation hosted the first meet-up on this topic, with an incredible response. Feedback afterwards indicated an overwhelming desire to continue holding space for rural arts and cultural workers to connect and share resources for anti-racism, equity, and justice work in ways that are meaningful and in support of the work of black, brown, immigrant and Indigenous leaders.
The July 17 event will consist of facilitated, small group deep-dives into the ideas shared by the panelists at our first gathering in order to develop personal and community commitments, and to identify ways to support and hold each other accountable in building equity in rural communities. Breakouts will include a BIPOC-only space and the option to gather by region.
This event is primarily designed for arts and cultural workers who live or work in small towns, rural areas and/or tribal communities.
