colorful abstract paintFebruary 18-Experimenting with Alcohol Ink Tiles with Melanie Gabbert-Gatchell, $20 includes supplies. 10am-12pm. If you have been interested in trying out alcohol inks or you have tried it but still need more time to explore the medium, this is the class for you! Join artist, Melanie Gabbert-Gatchell as she guides participants (open to those age 9 and up) as they explore and experiment with alcohol inks on tile. This will be unlike other alcohol ink classes that you may have taken because we will be trying out many techniques and tricks to gain different effects with the inks on tile. Blending, dabbing, mixing, flow with mixative and other tricks will be explored. Mistakes will be made—that is how we learn. And sometimes, what we think is a mistake is actually a whole new perspective unto a finished art piece! You will end with a finished art piece by the end of the class, so don’t worry—it is not all experiment. Participants should wear an apron or old clothes as the alcohol inks could stain your clothes.
