Visual Arts Minnesota announces a state-wide call for entries for its 16th Annual Essential Art Juried Exhibition and Celebration, January 22 through February 28, 2016 at the Paramount Theatre Lobby Gallery in St. Cloud.
The exhibition is open to Minnesota residents, who may register artwork in any media (painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, etc.) completed within the past two years. Included in the process is an artist critique on the day of the reception with the juror, Glenn Quist, and a docent talk of the winning pieces during the reception. Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st through 3rd places in both the 2-D and 3-D categories.
This year jurying will take place online, and only accepted work will be delivered to the gallery. The deadline for image submission online is 11:59 pm on Tuesday, December 29th, 2015. Register online at www.visualartsminnesota.org. Entry fees are $20 for one piece or $35 for two pieces. Members pay $15 for one piece or $30 for two pieces.
Visual Arts Minnesota creates opportunities for visual artists to exhibit and promote their work while providing resources to help with their careers. The Paramount Theatre is a historic downtown St. Cloud Landmark that brings in thousands of people for various performances, plays and musicals.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board and the Central MN Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
