Art venues in the Twin Cities
October 26 2016 bus trip to the Russian Museum of Art and the American Swedish Institute. American Swedish Institute extending the “Quilting Art of Today & Nordic Quilts,” which features works by Mary Chalmers of Willmar, exhibit.
First stop will be the Russian Museum of Art. Exhibits include “Unknown Fabrege: New Finds and Rediscoveries,” “Art of Valerian Formozov: Visions of the Russian Heartland,” “Artist Underground in the late Soviet Era” and “Imperial Images in Etchings & Lithographs.” From there, the American Swedish Institute. They have agreed to leave the quilt display up an additional week so we will be able to see Mary Chalmer’s work. “A Different Way of Seeing” and “Mansion in Mourning” will also be on exhibit. The café will be open for lunch. Departing at 8:00 am and return around 6:00 pm. Cost which includes admission to both venues: $45 nonmembers, $40 Arts Council members.
