Writing Workshop Registration
Mondays March 8, 15, 22 and 29, 2021, 6:30 pm
A workshop for anyone interested in writing. The workshop will focus primarily on writing for the stage, but can include poetry, screenwriting, and other creative writing elements. Participants will have the opportunity to write monologues, short scenes, and a ten-minute play. The participants have the chance to get feedback from other writers, as well as have their work performed for the Reader’s Theater Live Stream. Led by Matt Hegdahl.
Costume Workshop Registration
Thursday March 18, 25, and April 1, 6:30 pm with Zoom, Thursday April 8 6:30 pm at The Barn Theatre.
You’ve been asked to costume a Theatre Show! Where to start! Or-you would life to costume a Show! Or-you are interested in costumes! The workshop will discuss how to begin the process. Meeting with the Director, Your Job Stars Now and Actors can be Divas will be discussed the first three nights. Costuming a Character will take place at The Barn Theatre in the costume rooms the last evening. Led by Pauline Prawl. Registration will be closed after the first class.
Auditions/Acting
Tuesday April 6th & Monday April 12th, 2021 6:30 pm
This workshop is for anyone that has interest in performance. Participation is not mandatory, but is highly encouraged. This workshop will focus on these areas: Understanding you Type, preparing for a Role/Audition, creating a Character, Finding your Voice, Choosing Monologues. Participants would then have a chance to audition for the Reader’s Theater Live Stream. Led by Matt Hegdahl.
Directing/Roundtable Discussion with Directors
Mondays April 19 & April 26, 2o21, 6:30 pm
A workshop to give our current directors a chance to talk about their craft. Discussing as many of the following topics as possible: interpreting a script, casting/auditioning, working with designers/stage managers/technical crew, the playwright’s context/intent, and what a director can do within copyright laws. Led by Matt Hegdahl.
