POETRY RETREAT–2 DAYS
October 25th and 26th
A Free event Funded by the ‘Blandin Foundation’
The Lac Qui Parle Historical Society is hosting a 2 day Poetry Retreat on the poetic work of Robert Bly, Minnesota’s first Poet Laureate. The retreat will be held at the Lac qui Parle County Museum Bly study and conference room in Madison, MN (local motels and camping is available). The Retreat will begin Friday, October 25th, at 3pm, and end on Saturday, October 26th at 3pm. Psychologist George Dubie will recite (not read), and discuss the meanings of many of Robert’s poems, and local poet Lauren Carlson will read some of her poems.
Saturday morning’s session will be a unique discussion on how Poetry and Psychology come together–it doesn’t have to be a mystery. Psychologist George Dubie will lead this interactive workshop. The afternoon will offer a poetry writing class led by poet Lauren Carlson.
For more information or to register contact Barb Redepenning at the Lac qui Parle County Museum phone 320-598-7678 or by email at lqphistorycenter@lqphc.org. The retreat is limited to the first 30 people who register.
