Request for Breakout Session Proposals for the 2020 Nonprofit Finance & Sustainability Conference

As one of our most challenging years in recent history near its end, it has never been more apparent how lucky we are in Minnesota to have a state full of incredible nonprofit thought leaders and sector shapers.

The MN Council of Nonprofits wants you to share your knowledge and experiences with your nonprofit peers at the 2021 Nonprofit Finance and Sustainability Conference, hosted virtually by the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) and Propel Nonprofits on April 20 & 27, 2021.

Submitting a proposal is easy!
They’re seeking dynamic session leaders to present at this tenth annual event. Simply complete the online proposal form by Friday, December 18, 2020 at 5 p.m. to be considered.

They are looking for proposals on a wide variety of topics and in a variety of formats, including, but not limited to:

  • Advanced Track: sessions that dig beyond the basics while focusing on a unique concept or issue
  • Town Hall Track: conversation-based sessions that gather “the wisdom in the room” through facilitated conversations, world cafes, or other participatory methods
  • Change Track: sessions that focus on the various ways we are changing our work, our nonprofits, and our communities as we continue to experience and reckon with the impacts of COVID-19 and our sector’s, state’s, and country’s racial and economic disparities.

In addition, they are interested sessions that address the technical side of financial and fiscal management; the ethics of finances, budgeting and compliance; the strategic side of financial leadership for staff, board and volunteers; topics of sustainability including nonprofit business models and entrepreneurship; legal topics and government policy issues; and more.
