Ortonville offers youth arts class

This summer, The Smallest Art Gallery (118 2nd St NW, Ortonville) has the privilege of offering two sewing classes for children taught by Tanya Lee. These classes are inspired by Wanda Gag’s sister’s book called Sue, Sew, and Sew. Tanya Lee is a Costume Shop Director at the California Institute of Arts in Valencia, California. She teaches Historical Patterning and Costume Construction. In her free time, she free-lances for various theater, opera, and film companies throughout the nation.

Morning class for beginners: Sue, Sew, and Sew

Doll’s Clothing Design, Construction Class, with Basic Hand Sewing

This class will focus on basic pattern design, construction, and hand-sewing skills. Students will be taught how to design and sew doll clothing.

All supplies will be provided.

Students need to bring a doll (American Doll or a similar doll size).

Date: July 9th, July 10th, July 11th, and July 12th

Time: 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Class size: 10 students

Age: 6 years and up

Fee: $80.00

 

Afternoon beginner’s class with some sewing experience: Sue, Sew, and Sew

Doll’s clothing design, construction class, with basic hand and machine sewing

Students will be taught how to design and sew doll clothing. This class will have basic hand sewing and sewing machine skills to create a wardrobe for a doll.

All supplies will be provided.

Students need to bring a doll (American Doll or a similar doll size).

Date: July 9th July 10th, July 11th, July 12th

Time: 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Class size: 10 students

Age: 9 years and up

Fee: $80.00

Registration Guidelines:

Payments for class fees must be made in person at The Smallest Art Gallery at 118 2nd Street NW, Ortonville, MN.

Watch for the schedule in May for sign up days.

Register for classes early . Classes have a limited capacity and may fill up quickly.

If a class does not meet the minimum number of students it will be canceled and your fee returned.

Material fees are payable directly to the instructor at class. Do not include the material fee with the class tuition. Please have exact change for the instructor.

Students are responsible for helping cleaning up before class ends.

Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before class, instructors need preparation time.

Please pick up your child after class in a timely manner.

Please remember for safety reasons pick up and drop off your child on the same side of the street as the gallery. Do not allow your child to walk across the street unattended in traffic.
