Judge Information

Each May, the Top of Iowa Conference in collaboration with Waldorf College presents a conference wide art show of high school students’ art work. The 2016-2017 school year art show will be May 9-13, 2017. The conference represents 18 north central Iowa schools, with a possible 20 pieces of work from each school (10 2-d and 10 3-d). There are 24 categories in the collection and awards are given to first, second, and third of each category. Honorable mention awards may be given in categories with more than 10 entries.

The Top of Iowa Conference Art Teachers are searching for three art judges to help make this event a success.

What are the judges’ responsibilities?

Thursday, May 12; 10 a.m. (Lunch will be provided)

-Judging of art work

Friday, May 13; 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. (Lunch will be provided)

-Present four – 25 minute rotating sessions to the high school students. Presentations could be about your work as an artist, pertinent information you feel high school art students should know, a demonstration of your skill, or anything you feel is appropriate and important for high school students.

-Present awards to category winners

-Q&A with individual schools to critique and discuss individuals’         artworks.

Seeking:

-Three judges with three different specialties: one 2-d, one 3-d, and one graphic/photography/or multimedia

-Judges who enjoy sharing their passion with high school age students

What is the compensation for the judges?

  • Judges will be paid $400 with lunch on Thursday and Friday provided.
  • Transportation, other meals, and hotel is not compensated.
