The event brings together musicians from across the region for a day devoted to working on the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and his contemporaries.
Matthias Maute, the new music director of the Bach Society of Minnesota, will be on campus for a one-day workshop. Over the course of the day, participants will work with Maute and SMSU Director of Choral Activities Dr. Stephen Kingsbury in the preparation of music by Bach and his contemporaries.
Maute will work with the orchestra and conduct the combined rehearsals and performances and Kingsbury will prepare the choir, comprised of the SMSU Chorale and other area singers.
Members of the Southwest Minnesota Orchestra and other area string players will comprise the orchestra.
