Made Here, a project of Hennepin Theatre Trust, is accepting artists’ submissions for its upcoming fall/winter 2016-17 Showcase exhibition.
The Made Here Showcases temporarily fill empty storefronts and commercial spaces that are in transition with art by local artists, turning the downtown Minneapolis cultural district into a walkable urban art gallery.
The theme for the winter Showcases is “Spirit.” Artists may submit their proposals from now until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2016. For this round, they invite artists and artist groups to submit proposals for window Showcase displays that interpret the word, “Spirit.”
Artist interpretations of what the theme means to them are open to their creativity. You might showcase traditions celebrated within your heritage or ethnicity, highlight the “spirit” of your community, focus on energy and/or illumination, or a change you wish to see in the world.
