Minnesota Sings to give away over $10,000 in competition

The 4th annual Minnesota Sings event will take place on Sunday, September 24th, 2017 at the Holiday Inn St. Paul East.

Minnesota Sings is a competition between cities throughout Minnesota that is designed for amateur vocalists ages 15 to 25. Cities put on their own “Sings” event to determine who will represent them at Minnesota Sings.

Contestants sing to a backing tack which cannot exceed five minutes. Any kind of music can be sung as long as there isn’t any profanity in the words and the song has to be memorized.

The cost for a city to participate is $75, that amount covers both your city winner and runner-up.

First Place:

$3,000 for contestant
$1,500 for their favorite hometown charity
$1,000for their sponsor (whoever paid the $75 registration fee)
6 hour recording session at The Garage (music venue and recording studio located in Brunsville), complete with studio musicians and a producer.

Second Place:

$2,000 for the contestant
$750 for their sponsor

Third Place:

$1,000 for the contestant
$500 for their sponsor

Fourth Place:

$500 for the contestant
$250 for their sponsor

Fifth Place: Audio-Technica microphone, Audio-Technica headphones, Gator mic stand and Gator mic case

Sixth Place: Audio-Technica microphone, Gator mic stand and Gator mic case

Seventh Place: Audio-Technica microphone and Gator mic stand

All registration forms postmarked by 1-31-17 will be entered into a drawing for a change to win back the $75 entry free. The winner will be announced Monday, February 6th, 2017.
