DEMO CLASSES     Classes held at DEMO inc

ME & Arts Break (aka MEA  school break): Kids will enjoy their days off of school here at DEMO inc, practicing visual art skills.   Each fun filled activity will include focused art activities in a safe and friendly environment with professional art staff and projects that your kids will be proud of! Please wear clothes that can get messy!

 

Pinch Pot Fish Dish & Texture Tile Trivet – pottery basics with Monica Villars

Young artists will be introduced to stoneware clay & tools, while practicing 2 clay techniques, pinch & slab.  They will learn to polish leather hard clay and add a variety of textures to clay surfaces.

Youth ages 9 – 11                Capacity: 8      Minimum: 4

Tuition:  $25.00  (includes all materials)

1 session              Thursday October 19, 2017

8:30 am to noon – 3.5 hour class

 

Totem Stick –  Cast Paper & Mixed Media Sculpture with Monica Villars
Young artists will be introduced to recycled paper casting.

Multiple faces will be painted, embellished & combined with a variety of mixed media resulting in a sculpture to be displayed on the wall.

Youth ages 9 – 11                Capacity: 8      Minimum: 4

Tuition:  $25.00 (includes all materials)

1 session              Friday October 20,  2017                           8:30 am to noon – 3.5 hour class

 

Paper & Book Basics with Monica Villars

Young artists will be introduced to the western paper making process, using pigmented pulps  with a variety design techniques.  An edition of 12 papers will be made as a part of a traditional paper exchange. Basic book construction skills will be taught resulting in a portfolio that the exchanged papers will be placed in. A sheet of paper, 4” x 8”, will be made into an accordion structured book.  Participants will also be introduced to paper casting, using recycled cotton linters.

Youth ages 12 – 16                       Capacity: 8     Minimum: 4

Tuition:  $25.00 (includes all materials)

2 sessions            Thursday & Friday October 19 & 20              1pm to 4:00pm – 6 hour class

JUMPING OFF THE COLORING BOOK TO THE MANDALA   With Pauline Donahue

Participants will be guided to create a multi-circle design on black illustration board using repetitive shapes. Colored pencils & gel pens will be used to fill in and/or blend the shapes.  All materials will be provided but you may want to bring your own pens & pencils to use as well.

The class is designed for beginning artists but also allows for more complex designs for those artists that want more of a challenge.

3 sessions                            October 18, 23, 26

10 am to noon   – 6 hour class
