New York Mills Regional Cultural Center (New York Mills, MN) sends out a call for artists for their group show, “Best of Selfies”, August 8- September 8, 2106.

As technology grows and as creative expression diversifies, the line between artist and participant blurs and new media emerges.  But is it art?   The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center is taking on this visual question.

Please send one “selfie” you consider to be your best work.  And since it is a selfie, you the artist must somehow be in the photo.  Please send: your name, age, contact information, type of digital device used, subject matter of the selfie, date taken, and most importantly– a jpg of the selfie by email to bestoftheselfies@gmail.com by July 18.  A jury including staff from the NYMRCC and the Wadena Cyber Cafe will jury this exhibition.  Your work, if selected will be printed in hard copy for the traditional gallery view at the Cultural Center and will be seen on screen at the Cyber Cafe in Wadena.  If selected, a written permission with your electronic signature will be requested.  The show is open to ages 12 through 102+.  The show opens August 8.  Absolutely no inappropriate photos.  This opportunity is available to Minnesota residents.
