Made Here, a project of Hennepin Theatre Trust, is accepting artists’ submissions for its upcoming Spring/Summer 2016 Showcase exhibition!

The Made Here Showcases temporarily fill empty storefronts and commercial spaces that are in transition with art by local artists, turning the downtown Minneapolis cultural district into a walkable urban art gallery.

For this round, Made Here invites artists and artist groups to submit proposals for window Showcase displays that interpret the word, “represent.” Artist interpretations of what the theme means to them are open to their creativity. You might “represent” your community, heritage or ethnicity, a historical event or a change you wish to see in the world.

Made Here features artists who have never exhibited work as well as internationally renowned professionals. Made Here also works hard to feature artists representing diverse communities, aims for balanced gender representations and makes it a priority to include seniors, children, artists with disabilities, GLBT artists and artists from Greater Minnesota.

In the interest of accessibility and inclusivity, Made Here does not require artist statements, resumes or exhibition histories to apply. Their panel curates each open call blind, meaning that panelists review the art without knowledge of artist names in an effort to produce unbiased outcomes.

May 15, 2016: Installation completion deadline
June 2, 2016: Represent: Made Here launches
September 30, 2016: Represent: Made Here closes
October 1, 2016: De-installations begin
