MN Artists, a program of the Walker Art Center, has a new call for proposals, called MN Artists Presents: [Your Name Here]. This is a good fit for both curators or artists who are interested in developing their curatorial skills (it is not an opportunity to exhibit your own work; rather, applicants curate the work of others). Here’s the gist:
Applicants are invited to propose a central topic, idea, theme or question arising from their artistic practice or research, which would then be activated through a range of events, including but not limited to:
- temporary installation, set design, and costume in a public space at the Walker
- roundtable conversations, interviews, lectures, panels
- workshops, how-to sessions, art-making
- live music
- social components, networking and/or skill-sharing
Three finalists will be chosen and each will be given one of the following dates for their project: May 14, September 3, and November 19, 2020.
Greater MN artists are highly encouraged to apply! There is a modest travel budget for any trips finalists make to the cities.
If there any any specific questions about the call, or if anybody who would like feedback on a draft proposal, they can reach out to program manager Emily Gastineau (firstname.lastname@example.org).
