ON THE CLOCK: A Learning Exchange for Rural Connectors and Cultural Workers is a monthly online series hosted by the Department of Public Transformation and Voices for Rural Resilence, in partnership with the Rural Assembly. This month’s ON THE CLOCK will feature a conversation with Eliot Feenstra about his work with Beyond Boom & Bust and organizing to lift up radical and queer rural voices. Registration is FREE, but required! Register here:

Eliot Feenstra (he/they) is an organizer, a performer, a teacher, and a gardener. He is descended from Frisian potato farmers and early English settlers to North Carolina but grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and lives and works in rural Oregon. He is the artistic co-director of Beyond Boom & Bust, a theatre project about the economy and resilience. His work focuses on using community-based arts, dialogue, and organizing to lift up radical and queer histories, land justice movements, reckoning with inheritance, and our relationships to the places we live. He lives on a former commune in Takilma, Oregon with two kittens and his partner. /

Join us on Wednesday, January 27th from 3:00-4:30pm CST to learn more about his work!

And, if you are based in Oregon: Call for stories! OUT Dance Project is looking for stories from LGBTQIA2S+ people who live or have lived in rural Oregon. Is there a song that has been a crucial part of your story or expresses how you feel about being rural + queer? Share your story at:
