Minnesota State Arts Board Seeking Advisors for Art in the Minnesota State Capitol
Minnesota’s gorgeous capitol building belongs to all Minnesotans. The 1905 structure is newly renovated and now an advisory committee is being formed to decide what art and artists will be displayed in public areas of the building.
The Capitol Art Exhibit Advisory Committee will have 13 public members who will be appointed by the governor and the leadership of the Minnesota House and Senate. Members must have “knowledge or experience in art, Minnesota history, or Native American history.” They will be appointed to serve four-year terms.
If you, or someone you know, would be well-suited to serve on this committee, please go to the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Web site; in the Boards and Commissions field, look for the Capitol Art Exhibit Advisory Committee, and click the APPLY button.
