by SMAC

Hinge Arts Residency Deadline: September 1.

If you are an artist (or know one) who grew up in West Central Minnesota, but now live somewhere else, you’ll want to read this!

Springboard for the Arts now accepting applications for the Hinge Arts residency in Fergus Falls. Applications are due September 1st, for residencies taking place January 1, 2018 through June 30, 2018. More information and application guidelines are available at:
https://springboardforthearts.org/jobs-opportunities/hinge-residency/

Artists in the U.S. of all career stages and disciplines are welcome to apply. Two types of residencies are available:

Career Development Residency: 3-5 artists are selected for this type of residency. Designed to provide time and space for artists to break from their daily routines and focus on their own self-driven projects in a supportive community, artists can apply for this residency for a minimum of 2 weeks, and a maximum of 8 weeks.

Homecoming Residency: 3 – 5 artists will be selected for this type of residency, which is new this year! In an effort to help artists reconnect with their home region, we are looking for artists who grew up (or spent a portion of their childhood) in one of the 9 counties of West Central Minnesota ( Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse and Wilkin ). Artists in this program receive a $100/week living stipend, and are eligible for up to $1500 in project support for an actionable idea to collaborate with or engage with their home region through their artistic practice.
