Minnesota State Arts Board FY 2018 Operating Support  grant application deadline January 20, 2017

Eligible Minnesota arts organizations that would like to submit FY 2018 Operating Support applications may begin doing so. To access the program overview and application instructions, visit the Operating Support program page on the Arts Board Web site.

The deadline to submit applications is Friday, January 20, 2017. Be advised that applications must be submitted before 4:30 p.m. on the day of the deadline.

New for fiscal year 2018: The Cultural Data Project has changed its name to DataArts, and has launched a new online platform. Allow ample time prior to filling out the Operating Support grant application to complete DataArts’ Cultural Data Profiles.

Those considering a first time application are urged to review the program’s eligibility requirements and to speak with the program officer Richard Hitchler prior to beginning an application. He can be reached at (651) 215-1604, toll-free at (800) 866-2787, or via e-mail at

The Operating Support grant program uses a four-year grant cycle. Some applicants are required to submit “full” applications; some applicants are required to submit “interim” applications. The requirements for full and interim applications are different; current grantees should refer to the list of FY 2017 grantees to ensure they submit the correct application.

The Arts Board uses WebGrants, an online grants management system, for all applications. Everyone wanting to apply for a grant must be a registered user. To register, new users may visit the Arts Board Web site. Scroll down the home page to WebGrants instructions and registration information.

The Arts Board is offering a free online information session about the FY 2018 Operating Support grant opportunity on Wednesday, December 14 at 3:00 p.m.  Learn more.   |   (651) 215-1600   |
