Mokume-gane is a technique of using different metals to create a unique wood grain pattern. Gayle Martens received an Individual Artist Development grant from Southwest Minnesota Arts Council to develop skills in the six techniques of Mokume Gane (zougan, guri bori, cross pattern, marbling, feather pattern, and yuteki pattern). Gayle used these techniques on gold and silver metal clay.
