Erik Gran | Silver Lake | Painting
Abstract acrylic paintings by Erik Gran of Silver Lake will be featured in the SMAHC Gallery from April 7 through July 1, 2011. Gran puts his work into three categories: “Improvisational,” which are done freely on canvas and wood panel, resulting in a jazz like structure; “Compositional,” which are more geometric, and utilize preliminary sketches; and “Figurative,” which feature people and other figurative elements. Gran is interested
in art history and the work of other artists. Some other influences include life, memory, nature and observation. He is interested in many art movements, including: cubism, color field painting, landscape art, and expressionism.
Join SMAHC at a reception for the artist from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on April 7, 2011. Regular gallery hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM and we are located at 1210 East College Drive in Marshall.
