Event Details

The Abstract Face Workshop Instructor: Kristin Peterson
Faces can be intimidating… In this one-day class Kristin will show you how to use a variety of materials and techniques to begin creating faces. She will walk us through what makes a good face with face warm-ups in pencil and pen to get us loosened up and then, work our way into using paint, watercolor, acrylics and collage: all the while being mindful of our color palette. We will explore different substrates while we work and push our boundaries. And finally, we will also dabble with image transfer to assist creating our mixed-media faces. This workshop will not be a traditional “how to paint a face” class; but will be, a gentle space of creativity and kindness. Class price: $125.00 All supplies will be provided. Student will leave with a bound art journal to continue to explore and draw in after the class. Date: Saturday, August 24th Time: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cell: 320-226-8213 Check in location: The Smallest Art Gallery, 118 2nd Street NW, Ortonville, MN Class will take place half a block away at the Community Center in Ortonville. Lots of extra room to create in! Kristin Peterson is a mixed media artist who resides in Minnesota. Kristin has been previously published in books and magazines and has designed stamps and stencils.
