Autumn received a SMAC Artist Equity grant in 2021 to create more cohesive designs and artistic style, particularly for her traditional Dakota abstract and floral patterns, and to explore Dakota art methodology and design to develop a digital practice that engages traditional Dakota art. During the grant period, Autumn created 6 digital design elements, which she could apply as patterns in traditional Dakota art or for new mediums. Autumn completed digital Dakota floral studies for 3 unique plants and an additional 20 design elements to use in her work. She used these designs to create moccasins, beadwork applique, and a design for a public art project painting crosswalks and an intersection in downtown Granite Falls, MN.
