Event Details

Sunday morning June 8 at 10:00, Arthur Norby will be conducting an artist workshop. Unlike most workshops that focus on a single medium, artists of all persuasions and levels of experienced are invited to take part by bringing their medium of choice and the tools of that method. Arthur will demonstrate techniques and offer suggestions to artists who attend. There is a fee for this workshop and details can be had by contacting the museum or the artist.

The fourth event of this endeavor will be a one-person exhibit of Athur Norby’s oil paintings, drawings, and sculpture. With a nearly fifty-year career as an artist, he will share paintings from his career and five portrait sculptures, mostly of family members. The earliest sculpture being shown will be a small portrait, created in 1980, of his father, who was known as a great fiddle player, and his violin. This collection will be on extended exhibit at the Chippewa County Historical Society through the first weekend in October, 2025.

Additional events on Arthur Norby’s2025 schedule include the Fiesta Days Art Crawl on June 14; an author event at BookKKepers book store in Hutchinson, on June 2;, a one-day portrait workshop in Detroit Lakes, Mn on June 25, 2055. He will be at the Chippewa County Museum during the 2025 Meander Art Crawl, but not part of the crawl since he does not live in the area. His final event for the season will be an oil painting workshop at the New York Mills Cultural Center October 11, 2025.

Arthur Norby has received artist grants from SMAHC (SMAC) on three (or more) occasions and was grateful for the assistance. His Minnesota summer schedule is open ended and he would love to participate in artist events while he is here. Contact him at: norbygallery@gmail.com or 406 381 5337

To answer the so-far unasked question: All of his artwork is for sale, but the exhibit at the Chippewa County Historical Society is meant as a non-sale exhibit, meaning there is a price written down somewhere, but you will have to ask for it!
