Event Details

Conversation with Seitu Jones (former City Artist in Residence with City of Minneapolis) and Amanda Lovelee (former City Artist in Residence with City of Saint Paul) The City Artist in Residence Conversation Series is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund, and with support from the National Endowment for the Arts. ARTIST BIO Amanda Lovelee is a visual artist in the Twin Cities who works in city systems as a translator between government and community with the goal of building places where everyone belongs. Lovelee focuses on civic engagement through her project Pop Up Meeting, a city popsicle truck. She is interested in how people connect and the spaces in which they do so within contemporary society.   More about the series: Please join the Department of Public Transformation, City of Granite Falls, and the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council for a four-part conversation series exploring City Artist in Residence programs. The City of Granite Falls will welcome its first City Artist in Residence in 2020. To help us design and prepare for the City Artist in Residence program, the Department of Public Transformation has curated a conversation series with some of the best civic artists and artist in residence administrators in Minnesota. This four-part series is FREE and open to the public. All events will take place at City Hall in the Council Chambers. Please RSVP for the events you would like to attend, so we can plan accordingly. Details of each event below and Artist Bios included under Event Details.
