Meet Brian Jeremiason

Photography first became meaningful to me as a child while visiting my grandfather’s newspaper in Wabasso, Minnesota. I was fascinated by the darkroom and the process of watching photographs come to life. As I grew older and began traveling more, photography became my way of preserving experiences, telling stories, and sharing the beauty I encountered along the way.

Today, my work focuses primarily on landscape and travel photography, though many people throughout southwest Minnesota also recognize my sports photography. No matter the subject, I approach photography as a storytelling tool. Some stories are difficult to put into words, but a photograph has the ability to capture emotion, memory, and perspective in a way that feels immediate and authentic.

My wife Amy and I live on a family farm outside of Minneota that has been part of my family for more than 120 years. Living and working in southwest Minnesota has given me a deep appreciation for community, relationships, and the beauty found in everyday life. Photography first started as a way for me to stay connected to my children’s activities as they were growing up, and over time it evolved into a way to stay connected to the larger community around me.

I am especially inspired by travel and the variety of landscapes found throughout Minnesota and across the United States. When creating images, I’m often thinking about what the final photograph will say and how it might help someone remember a feeling, a place, or a moment in time.

I am a five-time recipient of Minnesota Newspaper Association photography awards and the 2022 Marshall Independent Reader’s Choice Award winner for Best Professional Photographer. In 2025, I was honored to receive an Artist Growth Grant from the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council, which allowed me to study landscape photography with award-winning Minnesota photographer Bryan Hansel.

Photography has taught me that beauty is everywhere if we are willing to look for it, and I hope my work brings joy, reflection, and a fresh perspective to those who experience it.
