MACT*Fest awards in the SMAC region

MACT*Fest was held by the Minnesota Association of Community Theatres (MACT) in Marshall this year.  It is a 2 day festival of performances by Minnesotan amateur community theatres and it also hosts workshops. The event included performances by 10 different theatres from around the state. This year, there were multiple awards given to productions from our region!

Congratulations to the Calumet Players of Pipestone for their award on Special Recognition in Regional Dialect for Always a Bridesmaid.

Congratulations to The Fungus Amongus Players of Dassel-Cokato, who took multiple awards and will be moving on to regionals, with The Voice of the Prairie, including:

  • Best of Festival Award
  • Outstanding Achievement in Live Music Award
  • Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design by Linda Metcalf
  • Outstanding Achievement in Set Design to David Metcalf
  • Outstanding Achievement in Directing to David Metcalf
  • Outstanding Achievement as Supporting Performer to Kurt Schulz of Glencoe (past SMAC board member), Ron Hungerford, Peter Dinius, and Ellen Mielke.
