Annual Congressional Art Competition seeks entries from high school students

All high school students are invited to participate in this longstanding U.S. Capitol tradition, which is an excellent opportunity for students from across the district to showcase their creativity and hard work. Since 1982, more than 650,000 high school students from around the country have participated.

The competition is open to all public, private, charter, and home school students in grades nine through 12. Winning submissions from each congressional district will be displayed for one year in the tunnel from the U.S. Capitol to the Cannon House Office Building, where they will be viewed by thousands of visitors, tourists, and Members of Congress. The winners will also be highlighted on my congressional office’s social media channels.

Students are invited to submit two-dimensional artwork that measures no larger than 26 inches high, 26 inches wide, and four inches deep when framed, and weighs no more than 15 pounds.
