Accessibility Grievance Policy
Complaints concerning discrimination on the basis of disability by the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council may be submitted to the organization’s ADA access coordinator via email or phone. In the event the grievance concerns the ADA access coordinator, the complainant may submit concerns to the Executive Director. SMAC will contact the complainant within 15 calendar days after receipt of the complaint to discuss the complaint and will respond in writing within 15 days of the discussion.
If the response by the ADA access coordinator does not satisfactorily resolve the issue, the complainant may appeal the decision within 15 calendar days after receipt of the response to the Executive Director or assigned designee. Within 15 calendar days after receipt of the appeal, the Executive Director or designee will discuss the complaint and possible resolutions. Within 15 calendar days after the discussion, the Executive Director or designee will respond in writing (or other fixed format accessible to the complainant), with a final resolution of the complaint.
