Lake Benton Opera House: 27th Season!

February 11, 7:30 pm. Monroe Crossing Concert.

Monroe Crossing: Regional favorite! Named in honor of Bill Monroe, “The Father of Bluegrass Music,” Monroe Crossing dazzles audiences with an electrifying blend of classic bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, and heartfelt originals. Their superb musicianship and on-stage rapport have entertained audiences across the United States, Canada and Europe.

March 18, 2 pm and 7:30 pm. Broadway Meets Lake Benton.

Take about 20 gifted singers who love theatre, ask them to pick their favorite songs from their favorite musicals and then turn them loose on stage. How can anything bad come from this? General admission, $11/$10.

April 21-22, 28-29 at 7:30 pm, April 23 & 30 at 2 pm. Secrets of a Soccer Mom.

Reserved seating, $11/$10. Three engaging women reluctantly take the field in a mothers vs. sons soccer game. They intend to let the children win, but as the game unfolds they become intent on scoring. The competition ignites a fierce desires to recapture their youthful good-humor, independence and sexiness, paving the way toward a better understanding of themselves, their families and changes they need to make in their lives.

beauty and the beast broadway logoJuly 27-29, August 2-5 at 7:30 pm, July 30 & August 5-6 at 2 pm. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

Reserved seating, $13/$12. The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast offers a great opportunity for family theatre at its best.

Reserved seating, $11/$10. Three widows meet once a month for tea before going to visit their husband’s graves. Touching and humorous, it will make you glad you went to the theatre.

November 18, 2 pm and 7:30 pm. Opera House Children’s Theatre.

General admission, $5.

December 2 at 2 pm and 7:30 pm. 21st Annual Christmas Show.
